The mission of the Plantersville-Stoneham Volunteer Fire Department is to minimize loss of life, property, and the environment from fires, natural disasters,
life threatening situations, and to assist other emergency services.
Our mission shall be accomplished through quality SERVICE delivery as follows:
SAFETY: for the community we protect and the personnel that protect it.
EDUCATION: through programs for our residents and youth.
RESPONSIVENESS: to the suggestions, influences, appeals or efforts of others.
VISION: from the past, to the present and into the future.
INSPECTIONS: investigations and pre-incident plans.
COMMITMENT: to our community, our families, ourselves and each other.
EMPATHY: for all.
FIREMAN'S PRAYER
When I am called to duty, God wherever flames may rage,
give me the strength to save a life, whatever be its age.
Help me to embrace a little child before it's too late,
or save an older person from the horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert to hear the weakest shout,
and quickly and efficiently to put the fire out.
I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me,
to guard my neighbor and protect his property.
And if according to your will I have to lose my life,
bless with your protecting hand my loving family from strife.
